Robert's BIO

Robert now lives his life from a total change of belief and perception and he now gets his buzz from life and living it on the edge rather than killing the pain and values life.

He won an Australia Day Award in 2007 for creating and implementing a new model for working with families in the Child Safety system.

Currently Robert presents, trains, consults and coaches in the Corporate, Education and other arenas.

However Before This:

When Robert woke out of this Sabotage haze he was 32 years of age and not in great shape, addicted to alcohol, drugs, self destructive antisocial behaviour, cigarettes, adrenaline, violence, guitars and motorcycles. He suddenly realised he was following in his father’s footsteps. He looked in the mirror and did not like the person’s image that was looking back. He was looking exactly like his father. Not what or who he wanted to become.

After much soul searching and counselling he realised through his own work that he had something to give back to young people who had been on a similar journey he had and who had similar beliefs about themselves as he had as a child, teenager, adolescent and younger man.

A WAKE UP CALL was a Life changed for Robert by choice with him choosing to work at Kids Helpline as telephone counsellor who for the bulk of his time there attended the crisis response calls nationally on the night shift. One of the people who employed Robert at the time indicated that he was going to be hard work; however, it was worthwhile for what he would give back into society.

Even through this phase of Robert’s life he has needed to live life on the edge whether it is riding motorbikes, surfing or skydiving those who have been in his life would tell you he is full on in his attitudes and opinions with black, white and shades of gray.

Robert has been employed by numerous frontline organisations working with the disenfranchised and abused people sometimes suffering from the cycle of Alcohol and Drug addiction and withdrawal to family based projects where the focus is for successful reunification of families where the children have been removed because of child safety concerns. Robert was employed by the Queensland Department of Child Safety as an Indigenous Child Safety Support Officer.

Robert’s message is about resilience, how to overcome and gain positives from perceived adversities and no matter how large they are, make the changes and open yourself to the infinite possibilities.

Robert today no longer drinks alcohol, smokes cigarettes or does drugs. The motorcycles, tattoos, guitars and the sense of humour remain.
